1. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a museum of modern and contemporary art in Abu Dhabi that will showcase some of the most important international artistic achievements of the 20th and 21st centuries. With a particular emphasis on West Asian, North African, and South Asian art, the museum reflects the interconnected nature of today’s art world and the increasing importance of cross-cultural inspiration and transcultural exchange.

Through its collection, commissioned works, special exhibitions, research activities, and educational programmes, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will serve as a platform for artistic production, scholarly engagement, and intellectual and cultural dialogue. Located on Saadiyat Island as part of the Saadiyat Cultural District, and designed by architect Frank Gehry, the museum will contribute to Abu Dhabi’s position as a global cultural hub.

1. Guest Wi-Fi Terms & Conditions

This Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy (together the Terms and Conditions) constitute the legal agreement between you ("You" or "Your") and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum ("We", "Us" or "Our")) relating to the provision by Us to You of a wireless Internet access service (the Service) to be used by You at any venue where the Service is available. Please read this Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy carefully. If You do not accept the Terms and Conditions, we will not permit access to the Service, and the joining process will immediately terminate. By joining and using the Service You agree to be legally bound by the hereby Terms and Conditions. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum is the Data Controller of your personal data. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum is a registered company of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

2. Agreed Terms

1. Acknowledgements and acceptance

  1. You acknowledge that the Terms and Conditions (as may be amended from time to time) apply to the use of the Service (including any future updates to it) by You.
  2. You acknowledge and accept that We may change the Terms and Conditions at any time. All changes (if any) will be communicated to You through a link on the log-in page for the Service or any means available us. You will be required to read and accept any such changes to continue using the Service.
  3. You must have obtained the permission of the owner of any computer, tablet, mobile telephone, smart phone or other electronic device (Device) which You use to access the Service (and which is not owned by You) to use the Service. By accepting the Terms and Conditions You accept responsibility for the use of the Service on any Device whether or not you own it. You accept that You may be charged by Your service provider for Internet access through the Device.
  4. You acknowledge and understand that Internet transmissions are never completely private or secure and that any information which You send by using the Service may be read or intercepted by another party even if there is a special notice that a particular transmission is encrypted.
  5. You acknowledge that the Internet is separate from the Service and that websites accessed by You via the Service are not under our control and that We are not responsible for and do not endorse their content or privacy policies (if any). You undertake that You will use Your own judgement regarding any interaction with any such website including the purchase of any products or services accessible through them.
  6. You acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights in the Service (and its underlying technology) belong to Us (or Our licensors) and that You have no rights in or to the Service other than the non-exclusive and non-transferrable right to use it in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.
  7. If we fail to remind you to carry out any of your obligations under this agreement, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, this will not be interpreted to mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to keep to those obligations. If we do decide not to enforce our rights, we will only do so in writing. Any such written communication should not be taken to mean that we will automatically issue such a statement again.

2. Provision of the Service

In consideration of You accepting the Terms and Conditions, We agree to provide the Service to You until such time as We cease provision of the Service to You. You may stop using and We may stop providing the Service at any time.

As long as you agree to keep to the terms of this agreement, we grant you a non-transferrable, non-exclusive license to:

  • Use the services under the terms of this agreement and the accompanying Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that You will use the Service in accordance with the Terms and Conditions and that You will not (and will procure that any person using Your Device does not) use the Service for any commercial, unlawful, immoral or malicious purpose, nor will You (nor any person using Your Device) in the course of using the Service:

  1. introduce any code, virus or data which is harmful to the Service or any operating system; or
  2. transmit, store, publish or upload any electronic material which is likely to cause damage or limit the functionality of any telecommunications equipment or any computer software or hardware; or
  3. infringe any intellectual property right belonging to Us or any other party; or
  4. send, receive, publish, distribute, transmit, upload or download any material which is offensive, abusive, defamatory, indecent, obscene, unlawful; or otherwise objectionable; or
  5. invade the privacy of or cause annoyance or anxiety to or send any unsolicited correspondence to any other person.

4. Limitations and exclusions

The Service is provided to You on an ’as is’ and ’as available’ basis and therefore all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded from the Terms and Conditions.

  1. Save as provided in clause 4(iv), We shall not be liable to You for any losses (whether direct, indirect or consequential) caused by any failures, errors, delays or interruptions of, in or to the Service.
  2. Save as provided in clause 4(iv), We shall have no liability to You if any third party gains access to Your connection to the Service or Your Device or destroys and/or damages any data or information held by You or information about You which is held by Us.
  3. Nothing in the Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude Our liability for (a) death or personal injury resulting from Our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

5. General

  1. The Terms and Conditions and its accompanying Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between You and Us as to the provision of the Service and they (and any dispute or claims arising from them) are irrespective of the location from which the Service is accessed, governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Abu Dhabi, UAE. You and we both agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

6. Data protection rights

We acknowledge individuals have the right to access the personal information that we maintain about them. You also have the following data protection rights:

  • The right to receive information about the data processing and a copy of the processed data,
  • The right to demand the rectification of inaccurate data or the completion of incomplete data,
  • The right to demand the erasure of personal data and, in case the personal data have been made public, the information towards other controllers about the request of erasure,
  • The right to demand the restriction of the data processing (right to restriction of processing),
  • The right to receive the personal data concerning the data subject in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to request the transmittance of these data to another controller,
  • The right to object the data processing in order to stop it,
  • The right to withdraw a given consent at any time to stop a data processing that is based on your consent. The withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent before the withdrawal.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider the data processing to be an infringement of the GDPR.

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Ticketing and Entry Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction to these Terms

  1. These Terms are between you and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
  2. These Terms cover: the purchase of Tickets for, and the use of Tickets at the Museum and Events; and your visit to the Museum and any Events.
  3. By purchasing a Ticket, using a Ticket, or visiting the Museum and/or any Event, you agree to these Terms.
  4. These Terms may be updated from time to time without notice to you. A copy of any update will be posted on the Website.
  5. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings, prosecute, and take any such act as it is legally entitled to take in relation to any person found to be in breach of these Terms.

2. Purchasing a Ticket

  1. Tickets may only be purchased from: the Website, Authorised Web Agents, the Contact Centre, Authorised Ticket Kiosks or Authorised Retail Agents.
  2. Unless otherwise expressly provided for by any of the authorised ticket outlet set out in 2.1 (above), Tickets must be purchased in United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED) and taxes such as VAT may be applicable.
  3. Tickets are at all times subject to availability and changes in pricing at the sole discretion of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
  4. To be eligible to purchase a Ticket you must be 18 years old, purchasing for personal non-commercial use, and of full legal capacity. Unpaid tickets may be issued to individuals aged 13 to 17 years inclusive.
  5. If you buy Tickets for any other person, you accept these Terms on their behalf, and will procure that they read and agree to these Terms.
  6. Full payment is required at the time of booking any Ticket. If insufficient funds are available, or if the payment cannot be completed in full, the transaction will not be completed and will be voided.
  7. Unless otherwise expressly provided for by any of the authorised Ticket outlets set out in 2.1 (above) and approved of by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, once validly purchased, Tickets will be delivered in digital form to the purchaser’s email address or WhatsApp/SMS as provided at the time of purchase. Tickets may be collected at the Museum at the discretion of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi if valid purchaser ID is presented. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi does not accept responsibility for Ticket distribution by any other party.
  8. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi may specify additional criteria for the purchase of any Ticket from time to time, for example in relation to age restricted entry or Events. You will comply with all additional criteria specified by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi in relation to any Ticket.
  9. Concession prices (if any) are offered at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s sole discretion. ID and/or evidence of qualification for the relevant concession price must be produced when purchasing the applicable Ticket.
  10. Unless specifically stated at the point of purchase by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Ticket prices do not include any goods or any services other than entry to the Museum, and/or attendance at the particular Event as applicable.
  11. You are responsible for your Ticket. Removing, altering, damaging, or defacing it or any part of it may result in entry to the Museum and/or an Event being refused without any right of refund to you.

3. Ticket restrictions

  1. You may not cancel, resell, transfer, or distribute any Ticket. Tickets are, unless otherwise specified by these Terms, non-refundable and non-exchangeable for any other promotion, discount, Ticket, or cash.
  2. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi accepts no responsibility for unauthorised, stolen, or counterfeit Tickets, or Tickets sold or shared in breach of these Terms.
  3. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi may void any Ticket purchase, without any right of refund to you, that it suspects to be: commercial, illegal, contrary to these Terms or unauthorised.

4. Entry and Visiting the Museum

  1. The Museum is private property. You agree that you are only permitted on Museum premises at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s discretion and in compliance with these Terms.
  2. You must have a valid Ticket to be allowed into and remain in the Museum. Museum Tickets are only valid to the extent stipulated by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, including in relation to entry time, entry date, and subject to any conditions set out by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
  3. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter. Final admission is one hour prior to museum closure.
  4. Tickets must be retained for the entire duration of the visit and can be changed at any time during the visit. No re-entry.
  5. You must have a valid Ticket to attend any Event. Event Tickets are only valid to the extent stipulated by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, including in relation to entry time, entry date, and subject to any conditions set out by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
  6. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children are at all times the responsibility of the accompanying parent or guardian.
  7. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi may refuse entry to, or remove from the Museum any person who does not comply with these Terms, and any person with a Ticket that does not comply with these Terms – in each case without refund.
  8. Where available, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will provide Visitors of limited mobility with appropriate assistance and accessible space/seating for Events. Should a Visitor require this kind of provision, contact should be made with the Contact Centre in advance of the visit.
  9. Some areas of the Museum might be exposed to direct sunlight and heat. Each Visitor is required to take appropriate care for their wellbeing at the Museum, including appropriate hydration and sun protection.
